In that search, I found woodworking, a craft that not only helped me heal but also taught the power of creating something meaningful with my own hands. Through this process, I discovered the significance of orienteering and cairns – symbols of guidance, resilience, and wayfinding.

The Chili Cook-Off Winner Board
Small Business Custom Build
When a local home supply store needed a winner board for their annual chili cook-off competition, they asked me for help. Here's what I came up with!
An employee from a local paint supply store contacted me to see if I was able to design and build a winner's board where they could add the business name of the contractor who won their annual chili cook-off.
No problem!
I designed this winner board for them, complete with a custom designed bowl with realistic clay chili and name plates for the past winners. I even designed trophies for the winners, adding a scannable QR code for the winners' websites.
My client was thrilled with the result! He told me it was the highlight of the event–except for the delicious chili that is.
